Morrissey Fox and Comic Relief are working together for Red Nose Day 2009, which takes place on Friday 13 March. 7p per pint and 25p per bottle will be donated to Comic Relief between Thursday 29 January and Friday 13 March, helping to raise cash for people living unimaginably tough lives here in the UK and Africa.

Neil Morrissey said: “When we saw Red Nose Day were up for a bit of a liquid laugh, we were right on to it. With our motley mugs on our Blonde Ale label, it was a ‘Drink Something Funny for Money’ no-brainer. “So, apart from spreading the great, zesty, fresh flavour of our unique ale to all those up for laugh, it’s also a top opportunity to re-claim and promote the name of our great British drink by getting down with some Red Nose Day fun.”
The pair took the brewing world by storm last year in their audacious, sometimes haphazard approach to brewing their idea of the perfect cask ale. Channel 4 filmed their progress from home brew kits in Richard’s kitchen to a micro brewery at the back of their pub in North Yorkshire, The Punchbowl Inn shown in three programmes last October called “Neil Morrissey’s Risky Business”.

Their first attempt, a blonde style cask ale was intended to entice new drinkers to the ale category. Joanne Taylor, Sales Director for Morrissey Fox added: “Supporting Red Nose Day this year will open up our distribution opportunities further. We hope to raise a substantial amount of money for this year’s campaign.”
The label depicting Neil Morrissey and Richard Fox in a photograph taken by Ian Rankin will show the pair sporting Red Noses in true Red Nose Day style. Anyone interested in stocking the beer should contact comicrelief@morrisseyfox.co.uk
